Welcome back in-person audiences! The 2021 Hollywood Fringe Festival will present a hybrid, both in-person and digital, festival August 12-29.
For the first time at the Hollywood Fringe Festival (Fringe), audiences will be able to enjoy the traditional in-person experience and livestream productions from the comfort of their own home. No matter where you are physically, emotionally or artistically, there will be something for everyone at this year’s Fringe.
While the in-person element of this year’s festival is a go, the Fringe will wait to release audience safety guidelines until tickets go on sale on July 16, 2021, to be sure that they continue to follow the most up-to-date practices and recommendations.
Although the Hollywood Fringe Festival welcomes back in-person audiences, they are taking safety precautions and giving patrons options to enjoy Fringe 2021.
“We will maintain fluidity to approach each developing situation with caution and the safety and health of the public in mind,” said Festival Director Ben Hill.
Hollywood Fringe understands that in-person performances will not be comfortable or accessible for everyone. The Fringe experience will not diminish for those not ready to be physically back in a theatre; all Hollywood Fringe-run programming will remain digital this year.
The Hollywood Fringe is thrilled to offer a festival to their community that more closely resembles the world before COVID. “We are embarking on a journey like no other, we are re-entering the world, and I can’t imagine making these first steps alongside any other community,” said Operations Director Lois Neville. “How we begin again is important, and the artists at this year’s festival are going to lead us all in the right direction.”
Artists, registration is open; share your story in-person or digitally. Visit www.hollywoodfringe.org to find out more.
Audiences, mark your calendars for the 11th annual Hollywood Fringe Festival: August 12-29th, 2021.
About Hollywood Fringe Festival
The Hollywood Fringe Festival is an annual, open-access, community derived event celebrating freedom of expression and collaboration in the performing arts community. This year’s 11th annual festival offers a variety of livestream and in-person theatre experiences.
Participation in the Hollywood Fringe is completely open and uncensored. This free-for-all approach underlines the festival’s mission to be a platform for artists without the barrier of a curative body. By opening the gates to anyone with a vision, the festival is able to exhibit the most diverse and cutting-edge points of view the world has to offer. Additionally, by creating an environment where artists must self-produce their work, the Fringe motivates its participants to cultivate a spirit of entrepreneurialism in the arts.
