[NoHo Arts District, CA] – Rotation Theatre Company (RTC) is thrilled to present its spring production of Kate Hamill’s Pride and Prejudice, based on the iconic novel by Jane Austen, running May 8-31 at the Whitefire Theatre.
About Pride and Prejudice
Rotation Theatre Company ardently requests the pleasure of your company for an evening of original music, family chaos, balls, and—most importantly—love.
Rotation Theatre Company’s Pride and Prejudice focuses on what drives the story underneath the manners and romance. Status, attraction, and reputation shape every interaction, and this production brings those pressures forward in a way that feels immediate.
The story keeps the structure of Jane Austen’s original but treats the social rules as active forces, not background detail. Relationships are built on negotiation. Love is tied to money, class, and perception, and those tensions land clearly for a modern audience.
With original music and an ensemble-driven staging style, the production moves quickly between characters and moments. The Bennet family chaos feels grounded and real, while the emotional stakes stay sharp. The result is a version of Pride and Prejudice that is direct, energetic, and focused on the realities behind the romance.
