The Hollywood Fringe Festival has launched a new mobile app to access show information, purchase tickets, and organize schedules throughout the festival.
With hundreds of shows to choose from both in-person and digitally this year, the app is an accessible and environmentally friendly approach for the Fringe community to stay organized, all from a smartphone.
App users can browse through all Hollywood Fringe shows and filter by category, date, or location. As users sort through the shows, they can be added to the “favorites” tab, and once tickets are purchased, shows will show up on the schedule tab.
“The pandemic and the environmental crisis has made us all rethink how we approach technology and promotion,” said Festival Director and App Developer Ben Hill. “With our new app and streaming technology, our goal is to bring the Fringe closer to our community without sacrificing trees in the process. We hope to continue to innovate new methods to make the Fringe more accessible and responsible,” Hill added.

About Hollywood Fringe Festival:
The Hollywood Fringe Festival is an annual, open-access, community-derived event celebrating freedom of expression and collaboration in the performing arts community. Each June during the Hollywood Fringe, the arts infiltrate the Hollywood neighborhood.Fully equipped theaters, parks, clubs, churches, restaurants and other unexpected places host hundreds of productions by local, national, and international arts companies and independent performers.
Participation in the Hollywood Fringe is completely open and uncensored. This free-for-all approach underlines the festival’s mission to be a platform for artists without the barrier of a curative body. By opening the gates to anyone with a vision, the festival is able to exhibit the most diverse and cutting-edge points-of-view the world has to offer. Additionally, by creating an environment where artists must self-produce their work, the Fringe motivates its participants to cultivate a spirit of entrepreneurialism in the arts.
