The 12th annual Zed Fest Film Festival & Screenplay Competition returns to the NoHo Arts District November 11 – 13, celebrating horror, sci-fi, art house filmmakers and screenwriters at Laemmle NoHo 7.
Zed Fest Film Festival & Screenplay Competition Hopes to Discover the Cult Movies of the Future…
“We will be screening the best films from 2021 sent to us from all over the world. We founded Zed Fest Film Festival & Screenplay Competition in 2010 to encourage and support independent low- and big- budget filmmakers who work in the horror, suspense, science fiction, drama, action, adventure, and art house genres. The festival screens feature-length, short films, super short films and student shorts. Our films are fun, artistic and innovative. Come celebrate independent films with us!” – Wendy Medrano, Zed Fest Film Festival & Screenplay Competition Director
You’veprobably heard of B-Movies. However, have you ever heard of “Z-Movies?” The Z-Movies (or as they like to call them, “Zed-Flicks”) were usually the independent micro-budget films with unknown cast members, and made by filmmakers that had dedication to complete their films. In fact, they were the early incarnation of Grindhouse and Drive In Flicks.
Stay tuned for the lineup!
