Groundwork NoHo, over the past year or so has been a daily staple for me to go and enjoy a delicious coffee while relaxing on the patio. Every time I go to Groundwork NoHo I always think how Zen it feels sitting on the patio outside and thought it would be a great space to bring the community together. Pretty soon, I got talking with the team and we thought the space would be a perfect place to Flow. I mean, who doesn’t love free coffee followed by yoga in the morning? 🙂
How did you start teaching yoga?
I first started teaching Yoga at an event I created during the pandemic in 2020 as a way for people to feel a sense of freedom, community and togetherness during such a difficult time. That’s where I came up with the idea of Yoga in the Park. Where we could enjoy the presence of each other’s company while still being socially distanced.
Will this be a monthly event?
Yes, I am happy to say the plan is to make “Yoga on the Patio” a monthly event, The first Sunday of every month.
What would you like to see more of in NoHo?
You can never have too many events that provide a safe space for the community to come together and be themselves. So, more of them, please.
You’re a choreographer at Millennium too! When are your classes there?
Yes, I teach at Millennium Dance Complex on a weekly basis, three times a week. Mondays 5.30pm, Tuesdays 2.15pm and Fridays 4pm.
Any tips for dancers coming to L.A.?
My tips for dancers coming to L.A. would be to truly just give it your all and embrace the minor setbacks that will make you stronger to keep pushing forward. The dance industry is a tough one, but we wouldn’t have the passion and drive to succeed if it was easy.
Tell us a bit more about your book “The Dance Within: A Must-Have Guide To A More Fulfilled Life, Piece by Peace.”
I wrote and published my book during the lockdown in 2021. I felt a sense of loneliness and anxiousness, as did many others. I thought to myself, how can I add a little positivity back into my life as well as do the same for others? And, that’s how my self-help book came to light.
“Come and flow with me on Sunday, April 2 at Yoga on the Patio.”
