West Virginia Lottery iPLAY Update Explained

The West Virginia Lottery has had its biggest update in years – here’s the breakdown.

If you haven’t checked in with the West Virginia Lottery lately, it’s worth a second look. A lot has changed. The state’s official lottery has rolled out its most significant updates in recent memory, and the centerpiece of all of it is iPLAY – the official digital platform that’s reshaping how West Virginians play.

What is iPLAY?

iPLAY launched in October 2024 as the West Virginia Lottery’s official online platform. It’s not a third-party app or an outside service. It’s state-regulated, state-backed, and built specifically for West Virginia players. Within its first year, 38% of the general population in the state was already aware of it – a strong start that the Lottery has been building on ever since.

You can access iPLAY through a web browser or download the app. iOS users can download it through the App Store, and Android users can get it directly from the WVL website.

New games, new draws

One of the biggest additions to iPLAY in 2026 is Millionaire for Life™. This is a brand-new national draw game with daily drawings, seven days a week. Tickets cost $5 per play. You pick five numbers from 1-58 and one Millionaire Ball™ from 1-5. The top prize is $1,000,000 a year for life. The second-tier prize is $100,000 a year for life, each structures as annual payments.

Millionaire for Life™ is available through iPLAY and at licensed retailers statewide.

MEGA MILLIONS® has also had a significant update. The ticket price is now $5, and the multiplier is built into every play – there’s no longer a separate add-on fee for it. Prize tiers have been revised too, with faster-growing jackpots and adjusted odds across the board.

Smarter tools for how you play

Beyond new games, iPLAY has added features that put more control in the player’s hands.

Jackpot Threshold Auto-Renewal lets you set a jackpot amount that matters to you. When POWERBALL©, MEGA MILLIONS®, or LOTTO AMERICA© hits that threshold, a ticket is automatically purchased on your behalf. It’s available exclusively on iPLAY and works alongside the existing Auto-Renewal feature for consistent, hands-off play.

Player-controlled deposit limits are also now live. You can set your own spending cap directly within the app – a straightforward tool for keeping your play within your budget.

And for payments, PayPal is now accepted alongside debit on iPLAY. It’s a small addition, but a practical one for players who prefer it.

PlayON and iNSTANTS

The PlayON loyalty program runs alongside iPLAY, letting players earn points and access second-chance promotions on eligible purchases. iNSTANTS, the platform’s digital instant games, also continue to expand, with new titles added regularly.

Ca$h Pop and KENO GO BONUS are not available online. Scratch-off tickets can’t be played through iPLAY either, though you can scan them using the mobile app.

Play in-store and online

Everything on iPLAY is an extension of the West Virginia Lottery – not a replacement for retail gameplay. Draw games and iNSTANTS are available through the platform, and in-store at licensed retailers statewide.
