Folk rock singer-songwriter Wayne Merdinger’s new album “Hidden Gems” bursts onto the scene with 13 uplifting, hopeful and inspiring tracks.
Recorded at the iconic and holy Abbey Road Studios in London, this collection of songs, worked on by some truly excellent musicians, is a kind of lovely “thank you” to a musical life spent creating great music with great friends and now for us!
Many of these songs have been waiting for years, even decades to be fully realized. Hence the name ‘Hidden Gems.” Sometimes it really is true that the best things take time. Wayne is a huge Beatles fan, so recording in Abbey Road must have been a real thrill for him….he even wrote a song about it! But this album is more than fan fiction. It’s a brilliant collection of well-crafted, thoughtful and beautifully produced songs.
“Hidden Gems” is a summer album. Bouncy, meaningful, incredibly catchy music for long, warm days and nights filled with laughter and friends.
After writing songs all his life his kids finally gave him the push he needed to record and release his music. This collaboration with incredible British producers Danny Saxon and Mark Jaimes is proof positive that he knows what he’s doing. It’s a slow burn. A journey that takes as long as it’s supposed to and I for one am glad that it did. We do not age, we grow. We are not old, we are experienced. And this music is the perfect proof that vintage is best…loved it!
