A NoHo Arts music review of The Skye Bleu Crew’s “Doll House” single.
“Doll House” is short and very very sweet. This new release on all platforms from Illinois-based The Skye Bleu Crew is a lovely blend of classic Americana and country rock sounds. Soaring vocals from the sublime Jen Botka ground this track firmly with a soulful, bluesy vibe.
There’s a gorgeous kind of rock musical edge to this track. It feels as if we are dropped into the middle of a history of a love, a bigger story. Maybe there’s more to come about this particular romance from this excellent group?
Beautifully crystal clear and emotional vocals, sweet singing guitar, and gently moving rhythms, all terrifically mixed and produced by the Grammy Award-winning Blaise Barton at his studio in Chicago.
The Skye Bleu Crew’s “Doll House” is deceptively simple, it sneaks up on you, grabs your attention, and sticks in your head, revolving around in there with its softly familiar themes of love and commitment, and a reminder of how you never really know when something life changing could begin.
