Iconic NoHo Theater Transformed into New Restaurant & Bar. Welcome The Renegade to the NoHo Arts District!
The Renegade – a two-story, 8,700 square-foot restaurant & bar – has announced its grand opening on Friday, February 21 after more than three years of construction. Located in the heart of the thriving NoHo Arts District, the sophisticated venue boasts two bars with a lengthy list of unique cocktails and craft beers, modern tavern cuisine, large TVs for viewing major sporting events, and an event space for live entertainment. Joining a revitalized neighborhood with an eclectic range of nightlife options, the space aims to offer a complete experience.

An additional area upstairs features the second full bar and a stage for various performances and events such as stand-up comedy, trivia, and live musical acts. A VIP room is available to rent for private parties.
The building itself comes with a rich history. Built in 1908, it was one of the very first structures in North Hollywood (at the time known as the city of Lankershim.)
The Renegade’s name is a tip of the cap to The American Renegade Theatre, which occupied the space in the 90s. “The founder of The American Renegade Theater was an influential figure in the area,” said owner Eddie Keshishyan. “I admire the history of NoHo, so I wanted to honor an important piece of it by keeping the name.”
The American Renegade was then bought and transformed in the the award-winning NoHo Arts Center, a vibrant performing arts center that contained multiple theaters and hosted hundreds of shows over a decade long span.
“I was living in the area years ago, and decided to start a business because I saw how much potential NoHo had. I opened District Pub – a successful sausage and beer restaurant,” said Eddie Keshishyan. “After a few years, I wanted to open a bigger space, so when I saw the NoHo Arts Center for sale, I decided to buy the building and start working on The Renegade. I purchased the building in 2016.”
The Renegade is located at 11136 Magnolia Boulevard, North Hollywood, CA 91601
