FALCON THEATRE presents
THE COMPLETE HISTORY OF COMEDY (abridged)
Since the beginning of time, comedy has guided us through good times and bad times, and all the ups and downs in between. Well, THE COMPLETE HISTORY OF COMEDY (abridged) playing at Falcon Theatre through April 23 actually begins at the beginning of time with the birth of comedy and continues through each landmark period culminating with The Daily Show. Whew!!! It is a laugh a minute, and I mean it.
We are treated to comedy in the style of Shakespeare, Moliere, Vaudeville, Groucho, 50’s and 60’s TV, with slapstick, slips, falls, farts and jokes. And there is something for everybody. You see, there was this ancient book, the “Chinese Book of Comedy,” but the last chapter is missing. Our trio of amazing and full of energy performers, Zehra Fazal, Mark Ginsburg and Mark Jacobson are dynamic. They are on a mission to find this missing chapter, and to “save the world through the art of comedy.” And they succeed in their mission. Oh, and pies are thrown folks. You will have to see the show to find out who gets it.
Director Jerry Kernion has selected the perfect cast generating energy and entertainment, fun and frolic, giggles and belly laughs. The props by Warren Casey, scenic design by Stephen Gifford, and the artful costumes by the always wonderful A. Jeffrey Schoenberg are fabulous.
It is said, “If you smile, it is amusing. If you laugh, it is funny.” And, in the name of the knock, knock joke, the riddle, and double entendre, THE COMPLETE HISTORY OF COMEDY (abridged) will tickle your funny bone. This is the fifth and final show in the Falcon Theatre’s 2016-2017 Season. And what a fabulous show it is with laughs and fun. Isn’t that the way you want to spend an evening of theatre? Yes, it is!!!
Enjoy!!!!!!!
