[NoHo Arts District, CA] – The 13th annual Hollywood Fringe Festival 2023 is officially open, and will run today through June 25. After one week of previews, the festival kicked off last night at The Bourbon Room with the official Opening Night Party. The rest of the month will include over 1,000 performances and events for patrons to attend across Hollywood as well as digitally via livestream, and will conclude with the Awards Ceremony and Closing Night Party on June 25.
“Hollywood Fringe is back, and there’s so much energy this year,” says Hollywood Fringe Co-Executive Director, Lois Neville. “We’re so excited for our community to experience the amazing work our artists have produced.”
With so many options, it can be challenging to decide what shows to see at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. Projects are searchable by category, tags, dates, venues, and more at hollywoodfringe.org/shows. Another great way to find shows on the fly is by checking hollywoodfringe.org/schedule or download the Hollywood Fringe Festival app here and Fringe on the go today (currently available for iPhone, iPod touch, and Mac).
Ticket prices for Hollywood Fringe productions range across the board, and festival organizers encourage participants to set their own ticket prices as part of the organization’s mission to empower artists to be their own producers. This year, the average ticket price for a Hollywood Fringe performance is $10, and 18 productions have chosen the “pay what you can” model, while 8 productions are choosing to present their work to audiences for free.
“We are so proud to provide a platform that makes the performing arts more financially accessible not only to the artists who produce work at Hollywood Fringe, but also to audiences that cannot typically afford to experience live theatre,” says Hollywood Fringe Co-Executive Director, Ellen Boudreau Den Herder.
Festival organizers encourage patrons and community members to see shows all month long, and spend time at Fringe Central, the community center of the festival – located outdoors just two blocks south of Theatre Row at 905 Cole Ave. At Fringe Central, community members can find Bryan’s Bar, Fringe Concierge, festival staff, festival guides, merchandise, impromptu events, and more. Fringe Central is also the place to pick up a Fringe Button, the official community badge that identifies members of the Fringe family, which also provide perks such as $1 off ticket purchases sold through the Hollywood Fringe website and discounts to local businesses through the Hot Spot program. More on buttons and their specific perks can be found here.
“Whether you’re interested in experiencing art, building community, or supporting local businesses, there’s something for everyone this year at Fringe,” says Neville. “Come and experience it for yourself – you certainly won’t regret it.”
Tickets for all productions in the 2023 Hollywood Fringe Festival are now on sale at www.hollywoodfringe.org, and will also be sold on the Hollywood Fringe mobile app and at Fringe Central during operating hours.

About The Hollywood Fringe Festival
The Hollywood Fringe Festival is an annual, open-access, community-derived event celebrating freedom of expression and collaboration in the performing arts community. Participation in the Hollywood Fringe is completely open and uncensored. This free-for-all approach underlines the festival’s mission to be a platform for artists without the barrier of a curating body. By opening the gates to anyone with a vision, the festival can exhibit the most diverse and cutting-edge points-of-view the world has to offer. Additionally, by creating an environment where artists must self-produce their work, the Fringe motivates its participants to cultivate a spirit of entrepreneurialism in the arts.
