Artist David Barneda’s “Still Life”

Why did you decide to do a Still Life show?

“Still Life” is a cornerstone of art history, still widely practiced in academic art as a way of training our observation skills. It’s one of the most widely known forms of art, and we wanted to show how the modern world still engages with this classic practice.

Who are some of the featured artists?

David Barneda, Mike Doyle, Steven Lawrence, Egan Rice, Niki Lambro, Kyla Frank, Kathy Phipps, Paula Quasarano, Chris-Alan Rubino, Fiona Todhunter, Adriana Guidi, Sandra Kapin, Patrice Hughes, Joe Utsler, Fran Doupé, Michael Wicks, Luci Dadoyan, Anush Semerjyan, Sonia Keshishian.

Is there anything you’d like to highlight about this show?

It’s going to be catered by our neighbors at Sloane’s, which we’re very excited about!

What shows are coming up?

Our next show is tentatively Landscapes, where we encourage both countrysides and cityscapes, and in April we will be hosting a show for the San Fernando Valley Art Club. March is yet to be determined, so stay tuned!
