[NoHo Arts District, CA] – A NoHo Arts music review of Sanjay Michael’s “Rocking into Midnight” album.

Rock n roll is alive and well in Singapore apparently! Sanjay Michael is a Singapore-based musician with a deep love for MTV rock anthems. “Rocking into Midnight” is packed full of love songs, full on, upbeat, pounding, and full of wistful longing.

This is a truly old-school album. A love letter to the tracks we grew up with. Def Leppard, John Mellencamp, AC/DC. Upfront and honest, telling stories of love and power and fights and rock n roll itself. Sanjay had the whole of the shutdown to create the kind of music he missed, and he has done a pretty good job of recreating the iconic sound of some of the greats bands in the world.

We need more records like this. Honest homages to the best of American music. It’s a great album, thoughtfully written and lovingly made. I for one am pleasantly surprised about what hides away in the gorgeous Island of Singapore! More please Sanjay!
