Why did you choose Brews Brothers as your running club “headquarters?”
When we learned that Pitfire would be undergoing construction, we needed to find a new place to meet. In November, we began looking at multiple possibilities in the immediate area. One night, we noticed a new craft beer bar had just opened up, and it was only a block from Pitfire. It was Brews Brothers. Spacious and inviting and offering 42 craft beers on tap (runners love beer!), a food menu consisting of artisan sandwiches, fresh salads, charcuterie boards and other small bites, as well as pool tables and other games, it seemed perfect! One night, a couple of us approached one of Brews Brothers’ partners about our club needing a new home and he could not have been more gracious and supportive. We then had a formal meeting in December to discuss the details of the partnership and became Brews Brothers Running Club as of January. Did we mention that food is 20% off for club members? We are so grateful to Brews Brothers and plan to keep it as our permanent home.
Tell us more about the relaunch party!
The relaunch party will be on Monday, February 25 at 6 p.m. We will be doing our usual route, but the run itself will be a twist on a scavenger hunt, and “treasures” found will be redeemable for raffle tickets. In addition to a raffle with many great prizes, such as race entries and Goodr sunglasses, Hoka One One will be doing shoe demos, Vision for Enrichment will be giving free massages and food will be 20% off. We are still working out some of the details, so there should be some fun surprises too! Admission is free, but we request that people RSVP by sending an email to brewsbrothersrunclub@gmail.com.
What if you’re not a good runner yet? What if a runner is slower?
Brews Brothers Running Club is an inclusive club open to runners of all levels! Our club has many paces to choose from, as well as several experienced runners who can provide guidance to people who might just be coming back to running or who have never run at all. For example, a combination of running and walking might be suggested. And if you don’t feel like running, you can walk with us! There is always someone there to join you on the route and socialize with afterwards.
What fun things do you have planned coming up?
Every Monday is fun at Brews Brothers Running Club! Other than the relaunch party, we don’t have anything on the calendar yet. However, we are talking about such fun things as weekend runs (followed by food and beer, of course!), club representation at local races benefitting some local non-profits, a pint glass etching party and more! People can follow Brews Brother Running Club on Facebook to stay up to date on all club happenings.
