We turn to our neighbors to help rescue our local rescue mission – #rescuethemission
A fire destroyed the San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission’s emergency shelter, vehicle fleet, clothing warehouse and food pantry on May 3. It displaced dozens of people and decimated months of donated items meant for Valley families. Cash donations and in-kind contributions are urgently needed to restore what was lost in the fire. This is a North Hollywood institution that has helped East Valley and L.A. families alike. The NoHo Arts District community can help.
“The Rescue Mission gives so much to our community by helping families in need get food, shelter and clothing across the Valley,” said City Councilmember Paul Krekorian. “Now, because of this terrible fire, the Mission needs our help. That’s why City Councilmembers, community organizations and corporate partners are launching a campaign to ‘Rescue the Mission’ and urging all Angelenos to join us. If we come together, we can overcome this tragedy.”
“The devastating fire that tore through the San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission was a tragic event that has impacted thousands of lives,” said Wade Trimmer, Executive Director of the SFV Rescue Mission. “The silver lining of this disaster is the outpouring of support and commitment from individuals, companies, and our elected officials, as evidenced by the seven L.A. City Councilmembers who have come together to shed light on our situation.”
