Patrick Ames is creating his own kind of musical space.
Acoustic guitar, soft drums, bold, live sound, humming backing vocals…it all feels a bit like the best kind of late night jamming session…after a few glasses of wine.
He lives in a vineyard, so maybe thats where the vibe begins. The songs are narrative, autobiographical, anecdotal, poetic. The songs playful, lyrical, like vivid memories of a life.
The EP is six tracks, moody, enigmatic, clearly written with no one but himself in mind, which I actually prefer. Music should aways be made for an audience of one I think, at its best when it’s that intimate.
It’s sweetly produced. Honest and simple and pure. It really feels like it’s right out of his mind, captured as it becomes, almost demos, almost improvised, evolving as he creates. It’s a really nice collection of songs, all fitting together neatly, all bouncing off each other with ease.
