[NoHo Arts District, CA] – HhhoooohhhooooNoooooHooooo Operation: SANTA 2023 in North Hollywood Needs YOU!
Every year since 1999, the Operation: SANTA project has delivered toys and cheer to disadvantaged families in the east San Fernando Valley during the holidays.
UPDATE
“We just lost one of our biggest donors to our Operation Santa charity program that I’ve been involved with since 2002 (21 years!),” says long-time coordinator and volunteer Jack Witt. “I believe it’s the most authentic Christmas-giving project in the San Fernando Valley.
This year they have about 100 families (about 200-300 kids), 54 of the families are considered homeless and in shelters or hotels.
How does Operation: SANTA work?
The teachers at our local elementary schools choose deserving children and have them write a Dear Santa letter. Next, the Operation: SANTA team gets the letters and distributes them to generous Los Angelenos who step up each year to act as Secret Santas and buy gifts for these local children. Then, the presents get dropped off at Operation Santa Central in North Hollywood. Finally, they are delivered right to the families.
