[NoHo Arts District, CA] – ELATE presents the world premiere run of the brand new musical comedy The Bethlehem Project runs December 5 -7 at the Lincoln Stegman Theatre.
About The Bethlehem Project
The Bethlehem Project is an original fun filled musical comedy about the events leading up to and after the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem. The Great Emperor and General Tiberius Julius Caesar Augustus Theatre Company and Petting Zoo tells the story in a series of comedy sketches, monologues and dialogues written by seven-time Emmy loser Jeff Zimmer (Not Necessarily the News, Talk Soup, AFV). The songs are written by singer/songwriter Mike Renneker and include Yes, He Is, I Didn’t Think So, The Light of Hope and more.
The show features great characters like Aava, a shepherd’s wife who’s also a puppeteer; Otto of the Grotto, who longs for a show business career; Stahn and Ali, owners of the local Camel lot; Madame Zehavi, a wacky psychic; Therese, the head of the Bethlehem Closet of Commerce; Hyatt, the owner of the Inn where Mary and Joseph were turned away; a singing and dancing mummy and many more surprises.
The Bethlehem Project is a prequel to Zimmer’s show The Golgotha Project, which told the story of Christ’s death and resurrection and was published last summer by Elderidge Publishing.
