[NoHo Arts District, CA] – SPLIT: Between Two Nervous Systems, written and performed by Dr. Dimple Kaur, produced by Jessica Lynn Johnson of Soaring Solo Studios, heads to the 2026 Hollywood Fringe Festival.
About SPLIT: Between Two Nervous Systems
SPLIT: Between Two Nervous Systems is a deeply moving solo dance-theatre experience about migration, identity, womanhood, and the hidden cost of always being “strong.” Through storytelling, movement, humor, and ritual, Dr. Dimple Kaur invites you into a world many live in, but only a few can name. If you’ve ever reinvented yourself, carried invisible pain, crossed cultures, or longed to feel fully alive again, this show will stay with you.
This is a performance for anyone who has ever felt divided between who they were and who they had to become. Between belonging somewhere and belonging to themselves. Between surviving and actually being alive. You do not need to be an immigrant to recognize that split. You only need to have ever performed a version of yourself that wasn’t quite true.
Integrating the ancient ritual language of Bharatanatyam and the intimacy of contemporary solo theatre, Split is a cultural and psychological excavation, with a quietly radical act of self-reclamation.
It is also, unexpectedly, funny in places. And devastating in others. Sometimes within the same breath.
Come for the story. Leave feeling resilient.
Running time: 60 minutes. No intermission.
Content note: This performance includes themes of racial microaggressions, mental health, and chronic illness
