[NoHo Arts District, CA] – Rotation Theatre Company (RTC), a fully female-founded artist collective, is thrilled to present the final production of its debut season: a vibrant take on William Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet.
About Rotation Theatre Company (RTC)
Led by a triad of passionate female creators, Rotation Theatre Company is committed to promoting diversity, empowerment, and innovation in its “big little” corner of the theatre world. RTC challenges the industry’s outdated standards of who is deemed “right” for a role, uplifts multifaceted artists, and creates opportunities where they otherwise may not exist — in part by rotating positions from one production to the next.
About Romeo & Juliet
Set against the backdrop of the 1980s and featuring both a female Romeo and Juliet, RTC’s Romeo & Juliet explores themes of identity, expectation, and rebellion through a queer lens.
“The decision to set this story during the ’80s has brought us a newfound depth for the characters and their context,” said co-directors Abby Rowland and Lindsay Jane. “This time period makes it more than just a story about two families at odds — it becomes a story about the societal expectations that shape our lives, and the cost of defying them in pursuit of love.”

Join RTC for an evening of small-town beach vibes, original 80s-inspired power ballads, a whole lot of neon, leather, and denim — and, perhaps most importantly, a poignant and zealous reimagining of a classic story.
