[NoHo Arts District, CA] – For one weekend only, Zombie Joe’s Underground Theatre presents James Ruggero’s Night of the Black Dahlia, a bold, brutal descent into Hollywood’s most infamous cold case of Elizabeth Short!
About Night of the Black Dahlia
For nearly 80 years, the mystery of the Black Dahlia has haunted the streets of Los Angeles. This summer, Zombie Joe’s Underground Theatre Group dares to dive deep into the heart of the city’s darkest legend with Night of the Black Dahlia, a raw, surreal, and unflinching theatrical experience.
Step into the shadowy past of 1940s Hollywood, where dreams and nightmares walk hand in hand. This original world premiere thriller brings to life the tragic and mesmerizing story of Elizabeth Short, the aspiring starlet whose brutal and unsolved murder became one of the most chilling true crime stories in American history.
Through a hauntingly beautiful blend of stylized performance, powerful visuals, and an all-original score by Hecticatia Guerrera-Carran, Night of the Black Dahlia takes audiences on a harrowing journey—from Elizabeth’s hopeful arrival in the city of dreams to her descent into a gauntlet of exploitation, corruption, and betrayal. As the investigation into her death unfolds, the glamour of Golden Age Hollywood peels away to reveal its darkest secrets—and the sinister forces that still pull the strings.
