About Grave Mistakes
A quirky romance and haunted-house mashup! Meet Ray, a book editor who’s head-over-heals for his co-worker, author Molly. But as they struggle to meet a book deadline, chaos ensues when a bizarre landlord and ghost hunter burst in with plans to transform their cozy workspace (which may actually be haunted) into a paranormal tourist attraction. Will love and terror collide in a hilarious explosion?

The Team
Playwright Ben Abbott is also an actor. He trained as an actor at the Pacific Conservatory Theatre (PCPA) in Santa Maria, California and earned a BA in Theatre and Performance Studies from U.C. Berkeley. He holds an MFA in Playwriting from the Playwright’s Lab at Hollins University. Ben has performed in theatres around the country, including Utah Shakespeare Festival, Indiana Festival Theatre, Hale Centre Theatre, Pioneer Theatre Company, SLO Rep, and The Great American Melodrama. His play Buddies: A Bromantic Comedy had its world premiere at SkyPilot Theatre. Other produced plays include Shut Up Sherlock, The Piratess, Nuptial Mass, and Backward. He lives in Atascadero, California with his wife and four daughters.
Director Jonathan Fahn returns to SkyPilot where he previously directed Paul Gulino’s Ambiguous as well as the sketch comedy show, No One Likes Candy Corn. He comes immediately from Theatre 40 in Beverly Hills where he just directed a critically acclaimed run of the heartfelt comedy by Susan Sandler, Crossing Delancey. Immediately before that, he was at the Westchester Playhouse where he helmed a very successful run for Kentwood Players of Emmy winner Ken Levine’s, Guilty Pleasures. He previously directed James Sherman’s Beau Jest and its sequel Jest a Second for Theatre Palisades. Also at TP, The Odd Couple, and Vanya, Sonia, Masha and Spike. Elsewhere: Sam Shepard’s Cowboy Mouth, Noises Off, Footloose, Fuddy Meers, and Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, among many others. A Long Beach State grad, he has extensive credits, both acting and directing, in theatre, TV/Film, and animation.
