[NoHo Arts District, CA] – The Group Rep proudly presents Agatha Christie’s second most popular mystery play, Spider’s Web, directed by Mareli Mitchel-Shields, produced by Brent Beerman for the Group Rep and running September 25 – November 1.
About Spider’s Web
In this cherished murder mystery, the charming wife of a diplomat, adept at spinning tales of adventure, finds live drama much harder to cope with when a murder takes place in her drawing room. Desperate to dispose of the body before her husband arrives with an important politician, she enlists the help of her guests.
Hilarity ensues when they are interrupted by the arrival of a wry detective. Christie delivers a unique blend of suspense and humor. There is tension and laughter in equal parts in an intricate plot of murder, police, invisible ink, hidden doors and secret drawers.
SPIDER’S WEB was first produced by Peter Saunders at the Savoy Theatre, London on December 14, 1954. The performance was directed by Wallace Douglas.
