JOIN US!
Why did you create the ZOMBIE JOE’S UNDERGROUND FRINGE?
We had been enjoying our participation in The HOLLYWOOD FRINGE a couple years back – and yet our audiences were arriving at our doorstep in June thinking that ZOMBIE JOE’S UNDERGROUND (4850 Lankershim Blvd.) was actually an extension of the HOLLYWOOD FRINGE – so my brother Josh T. Ryan and I thought, hey now – why not hold our own lil’ Fringe, and do it OUR way, infused with our own sense of prowess, style, culture and community…and have some good ol’ fashioned fun in the process?! Oh man, its been a blast organizing everything, too. The Underground is so passionate and enthusiastic, one does not often afford the opportunity to be surrounded with such an amazing theatre family in this lifetime, its just TOO good sometimes, we want to share this energy with EVERYONE while it lasts, life is short and precious. For our primary line-up, we feature two Bard productions – OTHELLO (dir. by Josh T. Ryan) and AS YOU LIKE IT (dir. by Denise Devin), performed in completely different styles and genres, a killer “Classic Edition” of our signature URBAN DEATH production (dir. by Jana Wimer), and Roger K. Weiss’ premiere- play about following your dreams entitled REMEMBER MY NAME, plus much, much more! Tickets are only $15, so be sure to catch all (4) of this year’s, unique, exciting productions.
