NoHo remembers 9/11 with a candle lighting, poetry reading and tree planting memorial at the North Hollywood Park 9/11 memorial.

Did you know that we have a September 11 memorial monument in North Hollywood Park? This memorial lists the 78 Californians known at that time that were lost in the attacks on the U.S. on September 11, 2001.

In addition, the L.A. Beautification team and local North Hollywood community groups planted 83 trees in June 2002 with the families of Californians lost on 9/11. This year, they will plant a 20th anniversary tree.

“September 11 is a day to remember, to remember the tragedy of lives lost and those who mourn them,” says Nancy Bianconi, www.nohoartsdistrict.com publisher. “However, it is also a day to remember the bravery and resilience of the nation at that time.”

Please join Councilman Paul Krekorian, the NoHo Neighborhood Council and the L.A. Beautification Team to honor the lives of those who were lost on that terrible day, and pay tribute to the brave first responders who risk their own safety and lives to serve the community. All community members are invited to attend.
