Brooks McBeth Returns to the NoHo Stage
He’s worked as a staff writer on such hit shows as FOX’s MAD TV, Comedy Central’s TRIGGER HAPPY TV, CON and ALMOST LIVE! and has performed stand up around the country. NoHo resident Brooks McBeth has an edgy but yet still endearing style of comedy that has made him a favorite at every comedy club he performs in. Besides being Comedian Joel McHale’s full time opener (The Soup & NBC’s Community), Brooks has also performed with such greats as Frank Caliendo, Drew Carey, Harland Williams, Doug Benson, Snoop Dog, Daniel Tosh and Jack Black to name a few. Brooks continues to appear regularly in national television commercials and voice-overs, but it is on stage by himself where he is truly in his element. We’re lucky. We get to see him on stage in the NoHo Arts District on June 11 at the HaHa Comedy Club.

So what was your first break?
So excited to be performing locally in the great NOHO! Originally from Seattle Washington, I started out on a sketch show called Almost Live! (Comedy Central) with fellow cast members Joel McHale and Bill Nye The Science guy. They are doing better than me. 🙂
Got a crazy story for us?
I have seen everything form fist fights to wedding proposals to divorces. It’s always an experience.
So you’ll be at The HaHa Comedy Club in June?
Most of the time when I’m in town I do an average of 12-14 minute sets. On this particular night I will be doing a much longer set, which is way more fun. The club is brand new and we have some tremendous folks joining me on the line up.

Rene Garcia – Although small in stature, Rene is one of the biggest comedic names to perform in this area. A favorite from the original Ha HA, Rene is returning to make this night absolutely epic.
Liliana Cervantes- One of the top female comedians in Los Angeles. Known for her TV appearances, she is not to be missed at this special event.
Darrin Chase is a newcomer to the Los Angeles scene but is quickly gaining a strong following. He is absolutely thrilled to be part of this great night.
The new club is amazing. Jack and Tere Assadourian have created a trend-setting, state-of-the-art comedy club in NOHO after doing great business here for over 25 years. The brand new club features a privately designed back patio, full bar and a larger pristine showroom that seats up to 160 patrons comfortably. If you have not gotten a chance to see the new facilities or enjoyed a great meal here, this is the time.
What advice can you give to an aspiring comic?
For God sakes, don’t do it!! 🙂 Just kidding. Be fearless and original. Have fun. If you’re having a great time doing what you love, people sense that and have a great time going on the ride with you.
