Don’t miss NoHo’s Brandee Evans as she works her magic in “Dance Crash” on the Oprah Winfrey Network
The NoHo Arts District dot Com should be fortune tellers because we knew this would happen, it was only a matter of when. If you don’t already know Brandee Evans, you should and you will. We first met Brandee at her Hip Hop ‘n Heels class in the NoHo Arts District. First off, for dancers, non dancers, fit, not so fit, it’s a class for everyone. We loved it. But more, we loved Brandee – her choreography, encouragement, sass and wit. One of the many Brandee-isms that stands out is: “If you’re gonna do it wrong, do it full out.” She transformed her class into dancers…in heels. But can she work that Brandee magic with high schoolers? We have no doubt.
Tune in to OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network for the premiere of “Dance Crash” on Saturday, May 30 at 10PM ET/PT. The show follows Brandee Evans, a professional dancer and celebrity choreographer (Katy Perry, Pitbull, Ledisi), as she travels to Atlanta’s Westlake High School to overhaul their dance team in a dramatic battle to regain their hip-hop supremacy at the Georgia High School Dance Championship.

The world of competitive dance can be cutthroat, and when a team finds themselves in need of a serious overhaul, desperate coaches bring in Brandee Evans, the go-to fixer in the world of dance. With a case full of first place trophies, the Westlake “Mane Attraction” dance team have gotten used to winning and receiving praise. But in the last few years they have found themselves fighting to stay on top of the podium, slipping to second place in hip-hop for four years running.
“Dance Crash” will follow the team’s journey as Brandee attempts to use her tough-love technique to teach the girls not only how to win a competition, but also tools to win in life.
Former English teacher and Memphis native, Brandee Evans has worked both in front of and behind the camera for projects and clients including Ledisi, Katy Perry, Kelly Rowland, the LA Sparks and the Miami Heat. In 2010, Evans created “Hip Hop in Heels,” a series of dance classes for women focused on improving confidence, building strength, finding your “sexy” and having fun.
“Dance Crash” is produced by Crazy Legs Productions. Executive producers are Tom Cappello and Tara Burtchaell.
