What NoHo BID Clean Team and Safety Ambassadors do for our NoHo community.
Wondering who rides around on bicycles in bright yellow shirts with permanent smiles on their faces? Or who empties the trash cans, removes the graffiti, pressure washes the sidewalks and weeds the tree wells? NoHo BID’s Safety Ambassadors and Noho’s clean up team!
Here are just a few of the important tasks these teams have performed from January through June 30, 2026.

Clean Team scope within the NoHo BID:
- Sidewalk & curb sweeping
- Maintain and dispose of trash from 60 trash receptacles
- Graffiti and Sticker removal
- Weekly pressure washing
- Bulky item removal and disposal
- Shopping cart removal/return
- Tree well and sidewalk weed removal
- 212,267 pounds of trash was collected and removed
- Removal of 469 graffiti tags
- 528 bulky items were collected and removed

Safety Ambassador scope within the NoHo BID:
- Safety Ambassadors visibly patrol the District and act as eyes and ears of community
- They utilize a district hotline number to respond to issues from businesses and property owners
- They help to deter anti-social behavior and low-level crimes.
- They also work closely with local law enforcement and the City on District issues including sanitation, encampments, and outreach.
From January – June 2026 the Safety Ambassador Team:
- Processed 773 calls for service
- Responded to 5176 property patrol checks.
- Had 685 contacts with unhoused individuals and handled 128 311 submittals.
