NKLA Super Adoption Day & Animal Rights Day – YOU can participate in Both

NKLA Super Adoption Day & Animal Rights Day June 3 and 4, 2017 – YOU can participate in both.

During Best Friends Super Adoptions, shelters and rescue groups come together in one place, with one mission: to find homes for as many pets as possible.

These fun-filled, celebratory weekends are a fantastic way to meet tons of adoptable animals without having to run all over town — and an easy way to get your fill of cuteness.

Each participating shelter and rescue group has its own adoption process and sets its own fees. These fees are used to help cover spay/neuter, vaccinations and other costs associated with getting homeless pets ready for their forever homes. Some groups will let you adopt on the spot while others require a home visit.

Best Friends Super Adoptions are free to attend. The only thing required of you is an open heart and a willingness to give a homeless pet a second chance. If you happen to meet your four-legged soulmate (and with so many pets to choose from, how could you not?), we ask that you have a valid ID and be ready to pay the adoption fee. If you rent your home, a letter from your landlord giving you permission to have a pet will help ensure the adoption goes smoothly.

The National Animal Rights Day (NARD) is Sunday, June 4. This annual day observed in multiple countries around the world is on the first Sunday in June, for the purpose of giving a voice to all animals and raising awareness for their rights, until all animals are free from enslavement and their rights are established and protected by law.  They start with a memorial ceremony for the billions of animals who die every year by human hands – often in the presence of real deceased animals, and continue with the reading and signing of The Declaration of Animal Rights.

The 7th National Animal Rights Day will be commemorated in the Los Angeles area on Sunday, June 4th, 2017, 12:00 – 4:00 PM, at Winward Plaza on the famous Venice Beach boardwalk (1600 Ocean Front Walk, Venice, CA 90291). Parking: Venice Beach Parking, 164 N Venice Blvd, Venice, CA 90291

Schedule:
12:00 – 1:00 PM: Memorial Ceremony for the billions of animals who die each year by human hands.
1:00 – 4:00 PM: Celebration of a better future for animals and the planet, with booths, free vegan food, celebrity speakers and entertainers. The event is FREE and open to the public!
