Join LA County Bicycle Coalition and Metro Bike Share on Saturday, April 30 for this beginner and family friendly, springtime ride through the NoHo Arts District to celebrate Earth Week, sponsored by Metro’s Bicycle Education Safety Training (BEST) Program.

The ride will begin at the North Hollywood Metro Bike Share Station located conveniently near the G (Orange) Line and B (Red) Line stations on the northwest corner of Lankershim and Chandler. They will ride in the bike lane past the NoHo Arts District businesses to the Chandler Bike Path, where they will ride past the Lankershim Depot and various murals. This is an out-and-back flat route that is welcoming to riders of all abilities.

Pre-registration and attendance confirmation is required for all participants.

Route: 

Approximately 3-4 miles, flat, in bike lanes or on bike paths

Getting There:

  • Biking: Plan your trip with the Metro Bike Map.
  • Public Transit: Local Metro train and bus, including the G (Orange) Line and Red (B) Line to North Hollywood Station.
  • Parking: Metered parking and paid parking are both available on-street and at the North Hollywood Train Station.

Experience Level: Beginner / Family-Friendly

What to Bring:

  • A functional bicycle or wheeled device (highly recommended with gears)
  • Mask or face covering
  • Hand sanitizer
  • A helmet is required if under 18
  • Bike lights (front white light and red rear light)
  • Reflective gear and bright-colored clothing
  • Water Bottle (with water)
  • Bikes with training wheels are not permitted, but children are welcome to attend if pulled in a trailer or on-bike child seat
