[NoHo Arts District, CA] – Nestled in Agua Dulce, just outside of Los Angeles, lies Animal Tracks Sanctuary – a safe haven for exotic animals from around the world.

Animal Track’s mission is not only to rescue and provide lifelong care for animals that cannot return to the wild, but also to educate and inspire the public and schools about conservation and sustainable living, creating a deeper connection between people and wildlife.

Mission and Commitment

Dedicated to exotic animal rescue and education, Animal Tracks Sanctuary is a haven for animals who were victims of the illegal wildlife trade or retired from the film industry. Whether they are majestic serval cats, curious hybrid wolves, skunks and possums, foxes and birds, or playful monkeys like Tara from Pirates of the Caribbean, each resident has a unique story of rescue and rehabilitation.

Tara, a 32-year-old capuchin monkey, has lymphoma, a condition requiring extensive medical attention. Despite her health challenges, Tara remains active and affectionate, and always charms everyone with her playfulness and expressions!

Malakai, for instance, a beautiful red fox, was rescued from a fur farm, where he endured cramped conditions and neglect. His teeth are worn from trying to open cans of food (yes, fur for fashion doesn’t need good teeth, so the “caretakers” don’t even open the cans for them).

At Animal Tracks, he has found companionship with Shy, another rescued fox, and is now thriving under the dedicated care of staff and volunteers.

Guided Visits and Educational Experiences

Animal Tracks Sanctuary welcomes visitors to experience their work firsthand through guided visits led by passionate staff. Encounter their animal ambassadors up close, learn about their species, behaviors, and habitats, and gain insight into the challenges they face in the wild.

Schools and educational groups are welcome to visit as well! At Animal Tracks, students have the opportunity to discover a variety of animals, and learn about native wildlife and the dangers of the illegal pet trade.

While they provide an unforgettable immersive experience, it’s important to note that Animal Tracks Sanctuary is not a petting zoo. For safety and the well-being of the animals, physical contact is limited. This approach ensures the animal residents feel secure and allows to prioritize their comfort and safety above all else.
