Despite what many might say, Los Angeles is a theatre town.
The NoHo Arts District is home to 20+ theatres, the highest concentration outside of New York City. The LA STAGE Alliance will host
LOOKING FORWARD: A Series of Community Forums. Get involved in your theatre community.
From LA STAGE Alliance:
“LA STAGE Alliance is traveling to neighborhoods throughout the city for LOOKING FORWARD, a series of six community forums taking place in February and March, to discuss the challenges and possibilities of making art in Los Angeles. These forums will be moderated by our Executive Director, Steven Leigh Morris.
As articulated in an article on @ This Stage, LA STAGE Alliance has ambitious plans for meeting the challenges of real estate, diversity, youth engagement and mobility across the region. However, we’d like to hear from the community about the issues our member and non-member theaters are grappling with – including answers to the following questions:
• What are the most immediate challenges facing your organization ?
• What are the long-term challenges?
• What are the programs already available to meet those challenges?
• If you could have everything you need, how do you envision Los Angeles in February, 2021?
We also have ideas for specific programs and services, and we’d like feedback on their usefulness to your organization.
Please choose a date that works for you and RSVP here. In order to facilitate the most fruitful discussion, only a limited number of places are available for each forum, so please RSVP early. Thank you, and we’ll see you soon.
NoHo’s Looking Forward: Community Forum is:
WHEN: Monday, February 8 at 7 PM
WHERE: The Road on Lankershim
5108 Lankershim Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 91601
LA STAGE Alliance, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization empowering artists and engaging audiences since 1975, is dedicated to building awareness, appreciation and support for the performing arts in Greater Los Angeles strengthening the sector through audience engagement, community building, collaborative marketing, professional development and advocacy.”
