[NoHo Arts District, CA] – Following their successful presentation of South Pacific in April, Sterling Venue Venues and Desert Theatricals have joined forces once again to present Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat on June 30 and July 1.

Synopsis: Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat:

“Sha la la, Joseph, you’re doing fine! You and your dreamcoat, ahead of your time!” One of the most enduring shows of all time, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a reimagining of the Biblical story of Joseph, his father Jacob, 11 brothers and the coat of many colors.

Told entirely through song with the help of a main character Narrator, the musical follows preferred son Joseph. After being sold into slavery by his brothers, he ingratiates himself with Egyptian noble Potiphar, but ends up in jail after refusing the amorous advances of Potiphar’s wife. While imprisoned, Joseph discovers his ability to interpret dreams, and he soon finds himself in front of the mighty but troubled, Elvis-inspired, Pharaoh. Joseph’s solution to Egypt’s famine elevates him to Pharaoh’s right-hand man and reunites him with his family.

Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals.

Saban Theatre GM Dana Morris comments, “I knew The Saban would be the perfect venue to host theatrical productions, and our success with South Pacific this Spring proved the point.   So proud to be joining forces once again with Desert Theatricals to present Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”

Joshua Carr, Producer and Director of Operations for Desert Theatricals adds, “Desert Theatricals is delighted to be returning to the LA area to present Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the beautiful, historic Saban Theatre.  With a 20-year history in musical theatre in this area, we look forward to seeing colleagues and patrons from the many productions that they mounted here.  The entire company is looking forward to bringing a wonderful show to the audiences at the Saban!”
