“DANNY AND THE DEEP BLUE SEA” is John Patrick Shanley’s explosive, deeply affecting study of alienation and the redemptive power of love. This provocative play from the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning playwright “is the equivalent of sitting at ringside watching a prize fight that concludes in a loving embrace” (New York Times).

Starring Renee Marino (Jersey Boys) and J. Bailey Burcham, directed by Ronnie Marmo.

In “Poison,” a young woman consults a fortuneteller about whether her former boyfriend will ever return to her; on hearing an answer she doesn’t like, she demands a potion to achieve the result she wants. Kenny has seen the depths of Kelly’s self-hatred, and he’ll never date her again—unless he drinks the fortune-teller’s mysterious potion, which will kill his soul as dead as Kelly’s. Can Kelly convince him to drink the potion? Can she convince herself?

Directed by Broadway veteran Kay Cole (A Chorus Life, Hair, Jesus Christ Superstar). The show features Nicola Tombacco, Kelsey Flynn, and Heidi Rhodes.

Why did Panic! Productions choose to work with Theatre 68?

We chose Theater 68 because we had meet artistic diretor Ronnie Marmo last year when we were doing Camp Rock The Musical at the NoHo Arts Center and he was also doing a show there. He moved into his new location so we kept in touch and I found out about his passion for Shanley. It seemed like a great marriage and it has worked out to be.

More About Panic! Productions

Panic! Productions is a community theatre troupe committed to presenting professional-level productions of musicals and plays for the enrichment of its participants and the community at large.

We strive to present theatre that challenges expectations, offering actors and other theatre artists, both amateur and professional, the opportunity to take part in shows beyond the limits often found in a community theatre setting. Presenting less-often produced works as well as new interpretations of familiar works, Panic! hopes to enhance the theatre-going experience while educating, and, most of all, entertaining its audiences.

Founded in 2011 by Paul Panico and Robert Weibezahl with a critically acclaimed production of Working: The Musical, Panic! now presents a full season of musicals, plays, and concert performances.
