Interior Design – 2019 Color of the Year

This year Pantone has decided that Living Coral is the 2019 Color of the Year.

It’s a very soft, warm and inviting color that, in my opinion, lends itself to a more sophisticated palette. With its soft peachy/orange base and the yellow undertone I see it used in all sorts of design: a painted wall, wallpaper, upholstered furniture, rugs, accessories, flowers, etc.  The design uses are endless.  As with any new color trend, we are apt to see it in all sorts of style and design elements.

This color is so perfectly used as a statement color as well as an accent. It’s a perfect match for earthly hues of golden yellow, lush greens, or even that perfect navy blue.  Its adds excitement to any room without taking control.  It’s a fresh take on the 60’s orange that so many of us lived with.  While orange has made a very small comeback over the years, Living Coral is much more suited for today’s design aesthetic.  Remember, you can use this color anywhere from full saturation to the lightest hue possible.

Enjoy this color. It’s simply beautiful.
