We do holiday shows in the NoHo Arts District! If you’re not in the holiday spirit, you should definitely check out one or all of the shows we’ve put together in this handy, Christmas show quick list. In December 1936, a Broadway star admired for his performances as Sherlock Holmes has cast members to his country home for a weekend when the festivities in his isolated house of tricks and mirrors quickly turn dangerous. Danger and hilarity are non-stop in this glittering whodunit set during the Christmas holidays.

A Scrooge-esque horror comedy about four 80s rock stars sent to help four desperate souls before Christmas, but it won’t be easy. Charlotte refuses to come out of the quarantine, instead is holding her own holiday party with captives from her life. Ollie brought his mother back to life and is now determined to make the perfect woman out of random doll parts to stave off his loneliness. Shannon and Melanie have been friends forever but are about to find out much more about each other once Shannon can find her pants. And Jackson can’t stop his feet from dancing until he finds his high school Prom date and kisses her. Too bad her husband is a notorious mob boss.

“Eight Nights”

Set in one apartment in New York over the span of several generations, “Eight Nights” follows the poignant journey of a German Jewish refugee and her family in this heartfelt portrait of a woman haunted by the past but resiliently moving toward the future. The play calls out the trauma experienced not only by concen­tration camp survivors, but by African American descendants of slavery, interned Japanese Americans, and current refugees from Africa and the Middle East.

“Christmastime Origins” 

December 4–January 2

The Group Rep presents “Christmastime Origins” based on the book, The Eight Plays Of Christmas written by longtime theatre journalist, radio host and critic Julio Martinez, adapted by Group Rep, directed by Kathleen Delaney with musical direction by Paul Cady.The four pieces being performed are radio plays and deal with the source origins of the most beloved things about Christmas.  The Group Rep turns their upstairs theater venue into a radio studio (K-GRT) with actors at microphones, live music and foley sound.

Join Force of Nature Productions for this unforgettable evening of music, magic, holiday spirit and much, much more. The evening will include a trio of new, short plays: “To Bah or Not to Bah” by Jennifer Novak Chun, “The First Maid a Milking” by Charlotte Cocker and “Lords a-Leaping” by Adam Neubauer. There will also be magic, balloon art, pantomime, holiday songs and more family-friendly variety acts. Proceeds will benefit future FON productions.

Ring in the New Year with composer John Massari performing a NEW horror metal DJ set from his “Killer Klowns from Outer Space” soundtrack.  This event is a full on cosplay dance party, and activities will include “Air-Guitar” and “Air-Drum” contests…Best costume and Killer Klown tattoo gets a special prize!  Featuring Killer Klowns composer John Massari.
