[NoHo Arts District, CA] – A NoHo Arts music review of Gina Zollman’s hit show ORIginaLS at The Gardenia, Hollywood.
Gina Zollman is an absolutely wonderful entertainer. A heartfelt and soulful singer. A skilful songwriter and a deeply talented and very funny raconteur. She really is a pleasure to watch live.

But in the end, all songwriters are judged on the quality of the material. In this particular case, these fine songs were written by Gina with some collaboration with Kevin Fisher. The result of this partnership is a selection of personal and truly moving moments with stories taken directly from Gina’s fascinating life.
This particular performance of this collection of Gina’s songs from the upcoming album, ORIginaLS was made possible with the wildly talented addition of her co-writer Kevin Fisher and the always wonderful Michael Orland, who was the music director for American Idol for 16 seasons and the utterly brilliant drumming skills of Brian Boyce. With Gina leading the way, the band was the perfect balance of talent and the kind of seemingly effortless sound that comes from decades of experience. What began as anticipation for a great evening of music became something even more special.

There is something utterly charming about Gina Zollman. Not only does she exude warmth and a wry, insightful sense of humor, she writes beautiful songs. Her voice is clear and truthful, her heart in every single note.
It’s as if she is singing for the first time and the last…with no concern for affectation or pretence. He voice is totally her own and the songs she sings are believable, sweet and heartfelt. This is the second time I have seen her work. The first was pre-COVID at the delightful Catalina Club. Her performance was just as sweet as this one several years later…timeless and full of fascinating anecdotes about her life and the music business, watching her perform is like a master class in audience relations. She cajoles, she entertains, she shares herself and her journey to this place, and then she sings…perfection!

Gina has just released her new album, ORIginaLS, and it is now in wide release. I predict that she will have a hit on her hands if her performance at the fabulous and very exclusive Gardenia Club in Hollywood is anything to go by!
Bravo, Gina, yet again!
