Making Jamie Vegan“, is where we take a recipe from Jamie Oliver’s 15 Minute Meals cookbook, and we see how long they actually take. We also convert them to a vegan recipe, as well to see if it’s even worth cooking in the first place.

Recipe by Jamie Oliver, Veganising by Moi:

INGREDIENTS

BLT 4 rashers of bacon (This Isn’t or Plant Kitchen are great UK options)
300g chicken (I used Tesco’s own vegan brand)
1 pinch dried oregano
1 pinch cumin seeds
1 baguette

SALAD

1 little gem lettuce
1 bunch of radishes
2 punnets of cress 4
40g feta (Violife is good. I forget this in the recipe)
2 tbsp red wine vinegar
2 tbsp olive oil
8 picked green chillies

GUACAMOLE

1/2 a bunch of coriander
1 red chilli
4 spring/green onions
2 ripe avocados
5 ripe cherry tomatoes
2 limes

My name is Bailey Manoogian and I‘ve been vegan for over 3 years now, making the switch when I first went to University. And let me tell you this, everything you know about being vegan is wrong (well most of it, there are some brands that simply sell us rabbit food). Our food is still fantastic, it’s still easy to make, it’s cheaper, and it’s better for everyone and thing on this planet. So if you’re thinking about becoming vegan, then I hope you join me on my journey of making vegan food that fools even the meatiest omnivores.
