May you live in exciting times! The Victory Theatre Center will host their next BackSTORY on September 15.
For this month’s BackSTORY, writers will address the themes from Spike Lee’s film “Do the Right Thing.” Even though the film premiered 30 years ago, Lee’s story is still relevant today.
Storyteller/actor Rashim Cannad will appear along with Anne Cherian, Vicki Juditz and October B.L.U.
The reader/performers will explore the themes of prejudice, racial violence and separation that continue to rip at the fabric of our society.

WHAT IS BackSTORY?
BackSTORY is a bi-monthly evening of true stories, fiction and poetry. Using the title of a classic stage play or movie as inspiration, storytellers and poets write poems and stories to be read aloud. Writers may pen a personal story inspired by the themes of the play. Some have written in the voice of a character from the play and told his or her back story. Some writers have used the words of the title for inspiration. Whatever the writer’s approach, BackSTORY has consistently been a fascinating and eclectic night of theatre.
