A NoHo Arts music review of Amo Jr.’s “Emotions” single release.
Ghana-born and now Hamburg-based singer songwriter Amo Jr. just released this sweetly soulful track with a gorgeous accompanying video. It’s a gentle touching song and Amo’s voice brings so much depth to every line.
Amo Jr.’s “Emotions” is beautifully produced, with a kind of laid back vibe that perfectly balances the vocals and moody instrumentation.
However, it’s not gloomy though, not at all. Amo Jr.’s “Emotions” is intimate and profoundly heartfelt. Maybe he brings with him his childhood in Ghana during the “tightening grip” of the J.J. Rawlings reign and his family’s five-year separation before they all reunited in Germany. That kind of experience must stay deep within a person. It gives him a very certain way of looking at the world and through his music he shares this, with a velvety voice and a raw honesty.
It’s a simple song. Deceptively so. A search for peace, within and without. A love song from a gentle soul to the world. Lovely production, lots of space for his heart to unfold in the song.
“Emotions” will be part of Amo Jr’s new album released later this year…looking forward to it!
