“All Together Now!”  – A Broadway Musical Revue presented by Music Theatre International (MTI) and the LAVC Department of Theater and Dance will be Los Angeles Valley College’s last show on their mainstage.

MTI’s “All Together Now!” is designed as a fundraiser for local theatres to perform live, over the same four-days November 12 – 15, 2021. The past year-and-a-half has been extremely challenging for theatrical organizations and MTI is offering this exclusive musical revue for free as a way to support the thousands of theatres who are persevering under trying circumstances.

“All Together Now!” is LAVC Department of Theater and Dance’s first production for Fall 2021, and their first in-person production since the lockdown. As a worldwide welcome back to live theatre, the show is being performed by hundreds of high school, college and community theatres all around the globe during the same weekend.

“But, the celebration for us is local as well as global.  “All Together Now!” will be the last ever show performed in the Mainstage Theatre at Valley before our old building is pulled down in preparation for our moving into the department’s stunning new digs in the VACA building at the east end of campus.  (Swing by and take a look!)  Fittingly, Professor Cathy Susan Pyles, who has directed so many musicals in the mainstage house (“Annie,” “Cabaret,” “Anything Goes,” “In the Heights,” “AVENUE Q,” among others) will be at the helm for our swan song in the old building.  It is truly an event.” – LAVC Department of Theater and Dance

We asked international student and triple threat Ewa Tonia what being the dance captain for LAVC Department of Theater and Dance production of “All Together Now!” entails.

“The role of the dance captain is to be the extension of the choreographer. I am there to understand and communicate all of our choreographer Eric Rodriguez’s ideas to the ensemble and to answer questions. We have been rehearsing almost daily and so I also took the initiative as dance captain to ensure that everyone is thoroughly warmed up before rehearsal and is taking care of their bodies. I made a warm up and stretch video, brought all my foam rollers for the cast to use and my cast members have actually started coming up to me for advice on how to stretch specific muscles or treat aches and pains from all the dancing we do! It feels incredible to have all these talented people trust me and being able to help them stay healthy and fit for the show!”
