How to Adopt or Foster a Pet Through LA Animal Services

Adopt a Pet Today

Our shelters are filled with pets ready to meet you and be a part of your family. To view the pets available for adoption, click here. When you adopt a dog, cat, or rabbit from LA Animal Services, your furry friend goes home with you spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and for LA City residents, the first year license fee for dogs.

They Urgently Need Fosters

If you have the time and can allocate some space in your home for animals in our care, visit any of the LA Animal Services Centers in person during operating hours to sign up and begin fostering right away.

“We are in urgent need of fosters for pets currently in our care in order to make room for the animals coming into our shelters as search and recovery efforts continue.”

To become a foster, come to any one of the shelters during open hours with a government-issued photo ID.

They are most in need of fosters for dogs over 35 lbs. 

Every day, new animals come through our shelters’ doors, so if you do not find a good match on your first try, please don’t give up!
