[NoHo Arts District, CA] – A NoHo Arts theatre review of J-P Theatre Productions’ original sci-fi/horror anthology, A Haunting Revue, directed by Richard Page and produced by Aditya Putcha at the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2025.
The talented people at J-P Theatre Productions never cease to amaze me. Pushing the boundaries of the horror genre to include highly cerebral and surprisingly pensive subjects and treatments of classic horror tales and original pieces with a vintage and classic feel.

To this year’s Hollywood Fringe, they bring part of their show I was able to see in NoHo at the Sherry Theater earlier this year, A Haunting Revue. With a new version of the short play La Mano del Mono, a twist on the classic gruesome story by WW Jacobs and the thoughtful The Inheritance of Dracula which ponders the question, what if Christopher Lee stoped by to see Bela Lugosi one stormy LA evening, for a bit of a chat before taking on the role of Dracula. To these short plays, they also add another, Birds of a Feather. This story revolves around the three adult children of a recently deceased mother. One of them, the favorite, was adopted, or rather discovered on their doorstep, a lost and confused alien child. The usual sibling rivalry with a little something surreal to say! These three plays make quite a mix!
What begins with horror and death ends with love and understanding. These wonderful, purposeful plays and their gifted and often hilarious performers offer a very different kind of Fringe experience. A Haunting Revue is the careful work of a company of actors. Creative and fascinating, unusual and intriguing, spooky and very, very human. They are guided by their inventive and supportive director, Richard Page, and their earnest and devoted producer, Aditya Putcha. You get a real sense of camaraderie from their performances. A real connection exists between them that is fully evident on stage. They enjoy ‘strange’ and revel in the oddities of the human condition…Bravo!
