The Group Rep presents
World Premiere Comedy Drama
A DULL PAIN TURNED SHARP
Written by Brent Beerman
Directed by Kay Cole
This new production at the Group Rep is another success in an already wonderful season. A DULL PAIN TURNED SHARP, a new comedy/drama, written by Brent Beerman and directed by Kay Cole, brings mother and daughter together in a classic family struggle.
Linda (Barbara Brownell) reflects on her struggle to have a baby, recalling her many pregnancies and miscarriages, as well as the joy and excitement she and her devoted husband Frank (Doug Haverty) experienced with the wonderful birth of her daughter Julie (Amy Earhart). A doorbell rings, and Elizabeth (Janet Wood), a small, slightly odd woman enters Linda’s home. Elizabeth is the mother of Stephen, a school friend of Julies, and has a plan that needs Linda’s help.
Julie is now an independent woman who is focused on her job but is stopped in her tracks with the plan that Linda and Elizabeth have planned. And, when she meets Stephen’s boyfriend Dorin (Todd Andrew Ball), the entire plan, and everyone involved, come together.
Great performances by all, splendid direction by Kay Cole, great sets, and an all around wonderful production.
The Group Rep is really having quite a terrific season. A DULL PAIN TURNED SHARP should be on your list.
Enjoy!!!!!!
