Cass Clayton is an absolutely brilliant songwriter.
This album is full of songs that speak to the heart of America, broken dreams and broken hearts, aching memories and hopeful futures…the irony of the optimistic soul.
With masterful guitar playing and a voice that’s a cross between Bonnie Raitt and Christine McVie, Cass Clayton brings her cool, crisp, Colorado blues to this rocking rock album. She’s an amazing slide guitarist…award winning in fact and it’s this skill that ads another dimension to these beautifully produced songs.
It feels like a live album. The songs are arranged in such an open organic way, the stories unfolding from one song to the next in a gorgeously cinematic and artfully thoughtful journey. Seriously…it’s a soundtrack. Someone should write a movie to this album…what an epic love lorn trek through a sublime and stupendous artists mind….love, love, love it!
Favorite song….”Strange Conversation”…very David Lynch.
