[NoHo Arts District, CA] – Have you tried authentic Brazilian açaí? That’s the question behind Uba Tuba NoHo, where founder Daniela Demetrio set out to recreate the beachside bowls she grew up eating in Brazil.
What Is Açaí?
Açaí (pronounced ah-sigh-EE) is a small, deep purple berry that grows on palm trees in the Amazon rainforest. Rich in antioxidants, fiber, and healthy fats, it has been part of everyday life in northern Brazil for generations. Along Brazil’s beaches, people enjoy thick, frozen açaí topped with fresh fruit, granola, and other ingredients for breakfast, as an afternoon snack, or after a workout.
After moving to Los Angeles, Daniela found plenty of places serving açaí, but few captured the flavor and texture she remembered from Brazil. She founded Uba Tuba to share the same style of bowl she grew up eating back home.
From Brazil to NoHo
“Our recipe matches the açaí we grew up eating on the beaches of Brazil.”
Uba Tuba sources its açaí directly from the company’s own production facility in Brazil. The team blends it with a touch of banana and strawberries before freezing it again to create its signature creamy texture. Rather than reinventing the recipe, they prepare it the way generations of Brazilians have enjoyed it.
The result is a bowl that lets the fruit take center stage while delivering the thick, creamy consistency that has made açaí a staple throughout Brazil.
Build Your Perfect Bowl

The Medium Build Your Own Açaí Bowl is the menu’s most popular order. Guests choose from an extensive selection of fresh fruits, granola, nut butters, seeds, and other toppings to create a bowl that’s completely their own.
If it’s your first visit, try the signature açaí or mix it with another base to create your own combination.
More Than Açaí
While açaí is the signature, it isn’t the only option. Guests can also build bowls with pitaya (dragon fruit), coconut, mango, chia seed pudding, or overnight oats.

The menu also includes fresh fruit smoothies, warm gluten-free pão de queijo, Brazil’s beloved cheese bread, and freshly baked Nonna’s Argentine empanadas, making Uba Tuba just as popular for breakfast, lunch, or an afternoon snack.

Why the NoHo Arts District?
The NoHo Arts District felt like the right fit from the beginning. Daniela and her team were drawn to the neighborhood’s creative energy and wanted to become part of the community.
“We chose the NoHo Arts District because it’s a special creative community we wanted to be part of!”

Bringing Brazilian Flavor Beyond the Storefront
Uba Tuba also caters birthday parties, corporate events, community festivals, and private celebrations throughout Southern California. Whether it’s a food truck, canopy setup, or table service, the team brings the same Brazilian-inspired menu to events across the region.
