[NoHo Arts District, CA] – Vivia E. Armstrong’s BellyFul, directed by Heather Dowling and produced by Jessica Lynn Johnson, delivers an unforgettable journey through trauma, body image, addiction, healing, and self-worth at the 2026 Hollywood Fringe Festival.
About BellyFul
The belly holds more than food. A young Black girl from South Chicago journeys through trauma, abuse, and bullying, uncovering how seen and unseen forces shape her body while keeping score. Raw, funny, and deeply human, this is a journey into discovering something new.
Growing up as a little Black girl with obesity in an abusive household on the southside of Chicago certainly wasn’t as bright as a trip to Disney World. Vivia endured bullying, abuse, trauma and addiction upward into her adult years.
BellyFul is a multifaceted story that touches on body image, abuse, bullying, self-love, worth, self development and healing in an educational and entertaining way. “Edutainment” so to speak. Taking a look at her self view, family, food and the fools that came in and out of her life, Vivia will bring characters and stories to life that will connect with the audience in a powerful way. From the solace found in her food addiction and the daring pursuit of her Hollywood dreams, to rediscovering her truth in a GLP-1 driven society while enduring grief, Vivia will take the audience on a journey to how she turned a belly full of pain into a belly full of love, laughter and joy!
