[NoHo Arts District, CA] – Love, ambition, and heartbreak take center stage this spring as Chalomot Productions presents The Last Five Years, Jason Robert Brown’s beloved contemporary musical about a relationship told from two opposite timelines.
About The Last Five Years
Opening March 27, 2026 and running through April 12, 2026, this intimate Los Angeles production invites audiences into the emotional journey of Cathy Hiatt and Jamie Wellerstein, two young artists whose five‑year relationship unfolds through Brown’s unforgettable score. While Jamie begins at the start of their romance and moves forward through time, Cathy begins at the end and moves backward, with their stories meeting only once – at their wedding.
Directed by Aaron Byrnes with music direction by Mike Walker, the production places the focus on powerful performances and the raw emotional honesty that has made The Last Five Years a modern musical theater classic. The show’s soaring songs, including favorites such as Still Hurting, If I Didn’t Believe in You, and The Next Ten Minutes, have captivated audiences around the world.
The production is presented by Chalomot Productions, a Los Angeles–based company founded to bring artist‑centered, deeply human storytelling to the stage. Led by Artistic Director and Executive Producer Sharona Krinsky, the company seeks to create theater that celebrates imagination, collaboration, and the transformative power of live performance.
With only two performers sharing the stage, The Last Five Years offers an intimate and emotionally immediate theatrical experience—one that resonates with anyone who has ever loved, lost, or wondered how two people can experience the same relationship so differently.
