“Electric Treatment Free” is a bit bewitching record. A weirdly wonderful mix of form and function. Electronic Gregorian chants and spirally whispy tones all created on a laptop.
Mixed media, sound clips, conversations, directives, children’s voices, all integrated, becoming so much more than they were. Idiosyncratic, familiar sounds played like musical notes, forming conversations and dialogues between opposites. Gentle in motion but clearly purposeful and specific.
The album is something meant to move us forward. To offer a window into a world we may not know yet, but are destined to become. It’s both modern and anecdotal. Totally new and yet so reminiscent of the past it feels instantly a part of our collective.
Clever stuff. Riveting. Emotional and, like all things created by technology, very, very human.
