[NoHo Arts District, CA] – The 2026 Hollywood Fringe Scholarships are now open!
The Hollywood Fringe Scholarship Program supports artists producing new work for the Hollywood Fringe Festival and is designed to expand and diversify the voices represented at Fringe.
Who Can Apply for the 2026 Hollywood Fringe Scholarships
Scholarships are available to Hollywood Fringe producers who identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and/or People of Color), disabled, d/Deaf, and/or blind. Spanish-language and other non-English productions are strongly encouraged to apply.
New for 2026:
Applications are now open to artists who have previously participated in the Hollywood Fringe Festival but have not received a monetary Fringe award (artist fund or scholarship) within the past five years. At least 50% of scholarships will be awarded to first-time Fringe producers. All applicants must propose a new work that has never been produced at HFF.
About the Hollywood Fringe Scholarship Program
Founded in 2016, the Hollywood Fringe Scholarship Program was created to broaden access and opportunity for artists producing work at the festival. To date, the program has supported 101 producing teams, with 10 scholarships awarded in 2026.
Impact of Past Scholarship Recipients
Previous scholarship recipients have gone on to receive honors including Best Solo Performance, Best Two Person Show, Denver Fringe Festival Exchange Award, Ella Turenne Award, and Fringe Italia Off Touring Award. Alumni productions have extended runs at Fringe venues, transferred Off-Broadway at Soho Playhouse, appeared at Second City, and even performed at the California State Capitol.

“It tested my limits as an artist and showed me what I was capable of.” — Carrie Mikuls, I Came To Make Noise (2018)
“Without this scholarship, we would not be going Off-Broadway.” — Callie Prendiville, Blamed: An Established Fiction (2017)
